How many calories should I eat and what’s my activity level?

Hi I am 5’6 116 lbs and a 14 year old male . I lift weights 3 days a week and Run for 5 miles on the elliptical 3-4 days out of the week also . How many calories should I eat daily and what’s my activity level? Thanks .

    It all depends – do you want to put on weight or keep a constant weight? (I wouldn’t suggest losing any, you’re light enough)

    Generally, you want to eat around 2000 calories on your no-workout days and around 2500 on your workout days. Eat lots of protein to repair and build your muscle mass, and eat carbohydrates post workout to keep a constant fuel store.

    If you want to put on weight (muscle weight) eat more carbs and keep weight training. You’re highly active, so your metabolism is raving so keep eating a healthy diet to keep you and yourself going. If you have a specially vigorous workout, you can push 3000 calories a day – but space out your eating.

    To lose weight, just cut out the carbs. I definitely don’t suggest this for you though.
