What you need to do is eat less sugar in your diet and more healthy carbs. Try to eat less than 24g of sugar a day. Now for this to work you also need to exercise. Try just walking outside for 30 minutes a day at a fast pace. Good Luck, and remember more carbs less sugar!

Exercise 30 minutes a day – try cardio. Stationary bikes at the gym are always fun.
Your BMI is 25.2, which is just a touch overweight.
* Underweight = <18.5
* Normal weight = 18.5-24.9
* Overweight = 25-29.9
* Obesity = BMI of 30 or greater
Rather than eating three meals a day, eat five or six small ones. Think of your metabolism as a fire. If you throw a huge log on it, it will die down and take a bit to gain control over the log, and as soon as the fire is burning strong again, another log gets thrown on. But if you throw small branches on a lot, the fire immediately grows. Smaller portions are easier for your body to handle.
Drink lots of water - it helps to flush your system. You should drink approximately nine cups a day - more if you're exercising. I would suggest buying a Nalgene or similar bottle and taking it with you and refilling it when needed.
Try pilates - it improves posture and helps you lose weight and get toned.
Do 30 minutes to an hour of cardio every day, if possible.
I hope that helps!

When you are losing weight, you should exercise and diet together.
If you exercise without dieting, you will get bigger appetite, which
will lead to increase of weight, or muscle grow
underneath the fat layer, and make you bulkier. If you diet without
exercising, you will become flabby and will have excess skin. For
diet, go wheat free. No pasta, pizza, bread and so on. And no food
after 7 p.m. People achieve marvellous results with it. Depending on
your initial weight, you can drop upwards from 20 pounds a month. If
you don’t eat wheat then you don’t eat all those sticky, fatty goey
cakes, you don’t eat junk food, and you don’t eat biscuits. But your
diet is still balanced. It costs nothing, and you do not have to
calculate points or to buy special meals or plans. For exercising,
start with walking, and then switch to running/jogging. Running is the
most efficient and calorie-burn exercise ever. If you are overweight a
lot, walk first or you may have health complications (heart attack,
disjointed bones and so on). Weight lifting is a good means to target
your problem areas for men and women. It’s not necessarily to become a
bodybuilder or even join a gym – a couple of dumbbells will help you
to target your problem areas (stomach, butt, legs, arms, chest).

Glad you are seeking the healthy long term way. best way to have an appropriate body wt is to be aware and listen to your body ( not the brain). It tells you when to eat and stop what to eat, when to do the full intensity exercise and when to do gliding exercise, even tells you when to rest. MA is a wonderful way to learn how to listen to the body. Eat very close to what is natural. no process foods.
Dont forget to laugh and love instead of fear. not sure this helps

I don’t know if Womens Health has the same as MensHealth.com but they have a program on there called Belly off. It is free and they have three different workout programs. I used one called the classic where you don’t need any weights. It is all squats and push up kind of stuff. It is good for men or women. I lost 40 pounds doing their workouts and eating plan. Good Luck
