How can I lose weight and inches from my thighs and stomach?

I have about a stone to lose in weight but in particular it has to come from my stomach and thighs and was wondering what exercises in particular can aid this? I already run, and do various weight training but would really appreciate some specific training to do.

    Diet and exercise are always the best. But, remeber, you can spot tone certain areas but you cannot spot reduce.

    There is no short cut. Lay off the junk food.
    Begin exercising more. Eat only lean meats in moderation. add more fish (NOT FRIED) to your diet. Try filling up on salad plain or stick to vinigarette dressings.

    Biking jogging even fast walking is all good exercise. Crunches will firm up the tummy muscles but the flab will still be there until you burn it off.

    Remember, there is NOTHING healthy at mc d’s or BK. They put fried chicken in their salads. LOL

    In order to lose weight in your mid section and thighs you are going to have to reduce your current fat levels, avoid new fat and then do targeted exercises.

    When dieting you can’t specify where you want your fat loss to come from, it’s going to come from anywhere there is excess fat. That is why in addition to dieting you should ad specific exercises to your routine.

    You probably already know what a good healthy diet is like so I won’t go into detail here just stop eating any junk food, use 100% whole grain products when eating breads and pasta’s, choose low fat or non-fat dairy products over full fat & eat tons of veggies and 4-5 fruit servings a day.

    Now in order to burn off your current fat stores you have started a diet as above and now you need to blast off the fat.
    Cardio is great for upping metabolism and burning up calories. Cardio can be anything from brisk walking, jogging, kick boxing, swimming, running up and down stairs to my favorite TaeBo Amped (it will also tone you while blasting fat).

    Do your cardio at least 4 times a week (7 is perfect) for 30-45 minutes at the least. If you can go for 60 minutes that’s even better, but with summer approaching it may be hard to walk in the hot sun for 1 hour. Cardio will get your heart rate up, you’ll start to sweat and also get pretty winded, So rest when you need to and remember to stay hydrated.

    Now for targeted exercises. Although targeted exercises won’t burn the fat from your stomach and thighs, cardio will and the exercises will firm and tone the area making everything less jello like.

    For your thighs side leg lifts, squats and lunges are great. Also going up and down stairs is good and if you pick stairs as your cardio you can get both done at the same time.

    The traveling lunge will also work the thighs and abs so that would be an excellent excersise if you don’t have any current knee problems.

    For your abs
    Standing crunches, 15 reps 1 set moving up to 3 sets per day.
    Military press, 10 reps, 2 sets with a 30 second rest in between sets.
    Reverse crunches, 15 reps, 1 set moving up to 25 reps and 3 sets.
    Reverse bicycle, 20 reps, 2 sets moving up to 50 reps, 3 sets
    Bent knee leg raise, 12 reps, 1 set moving up to 4 reps.

    If you want to add in more targeted exercises – great – the above is just a listing of the most effective ones that take the shortest time to see results.

    One good thing about working both the abs and thighs is that many exercises target both so the thigh exercises will help your stomach and your ab exercises will help your thighs.

    Eat right, do cardio and target specific muscle groups and you will see results very quickly.
