How can I lose fat in my arm but not gain to much muscle?

My arms are kind of “thick”, I would like to lose some weight in them. But, how can I lose the fat without gaining too much muscle? Which work out machines or other exercises can I try?
Yes, I am on a low-fat diet everyone. I shouldn’t be trying to lose that much weight because I’m only 14 and am at a healthy weight, I am just trying to get back in shape for swim team.
I want some muscle just not a lot. I already do have some pretty big muscles.

You can’t lose weight like that. You can tone the muscle you have and lose weight too, but your physiology determines where and how much you lose in any given area.

in order to lose overall fat..increase the cardio and get on a healthy diet. You really don’t need to worry about gaining muscle..cause it would be hard to do that with the restriction in your calorie intake.

i bet that the stuff in your arms is pretty much fat..so just lose that and you will be fine

Fat is lost over the whole body, not in spots. You should do 20 – 30 minutes a day of cardio and a 3 times a week whole body workout. No one exercise will do it.

You should use dumbbells but do more reps using less weight! Trying to lift as much weight as possible and doing a few reps is how you build muscle. So to just burn fat you need to find a comfortable weight and try to do 3 sets of 10 or more reps! If you are not able to do 10 then you are using too much weight! But you also have to be on a low fat diet! You cant lose weight if you are eating a bunch of fat!! Good Luck! 🙂

Working out your arms are going to make them bigger because it is adding muscle, which is adding mass…You need to just lose weight, if you lose 10 pounds of mass, it wont just be in your stomach, equal distributions of fat will be lost from all, or nearly all places.

I have this problem and I have found that the only way to lose weight in my arms is by dieting, not exercise. Strength training and weight lifting will only build muscle, which will increase the size of the arms, not decrease them. Unfortunately I have never known anyone who could work off weight from their arms via exercise. You only end up with fat plus muscle if you strength train, but the fat only diminishes via dieting. When I first started working out my arms got huge until I started dieting and lost some fat.
