Has anyone lost weight or changed/toned their body shape through swimming?

If so how much did you go – how long did it take you etc? and did you lose more weight or was it more for toning?

    I lost about 10kg just from swimming and eating healthy.
    Thats just under 20 pounds. I did about 40 laps of a 25 metre pool, and this happened 5-7 times a week.
    I did lose that weight, but the real benefit from it was the toning- my muscles looked more lean, and I had the whole ‘stretched’ appearance.
    It took me about 12 weeks I think .

    my mom tried swimming to lose weight,
    and for her after swimming everyday for about 2 months,
    she had lost only around 1% bodyfat and she had done alot of swimming,
    her weight dropped only around 5 pounds.
    in otherwords it didnt work so good for her.

    I swam for eight years in my teens and I still have fantastic muscle definition in my upper body and arms and have stayed a size eight through no exercise till my late 30’s … it’s a great sport!
