How many calories should I eat and how do I lose weight with my treadmill?

I’m 28 years old and weigh 155 pounds. I would like to get back down to 130. I’ve recently just purchased a treadmill which I’ve been walking on every day. I usually go by the calories I burn and I usually burn 500+ calories each time I walk but I still am having a hard time losing weight. How many calories should I eat each day and how many should I burn off in order to start losing this weight?

    You should eat 1,500 per day.

    You need to get on a real diet and not just worry about calories. There is far more than dieting than calories. Get on a diet that is high in fiber and low in fat and continue to run. Also, add in some weight training because muscle burns more calories than fat. It will make losing weight easier.

    To maintain your weight, you should eat 100x the amount of calories that you weigh… so you way 155lbs, in order to maintain your weight how it is, you would eat 1550 calories a day. if your burning 500 calories a day you can add 500 calories to your daily intake. so in order to stay exactly the weight you are, you would eat 2050 calories a day. No one needs to eat that much. to lose weight i would say eat 1200 calories a day and keep up the workouts. running burns more calories than walking as well.
    My friend is studying all of this right now in college and explained it all to me becuase im also overweight.
    Remember though, its not always about how much you weigh. you can stay at 155lbs but be thinner by toning.
    The more muscle you have the easier you burn calories too:D

    and dont get discouraged if the weight doesn’t melt off, it takes time:D
    Another thing to add to all of this, is try to drink a lot of water. Try to remember to have a cup of water after everytime you pee, it will help flush your system, keep you hydrated, and also help keep you a little full so you dont want to munch all day. and drink water when your watching tv and stuff. so you dont munch:) thats what i do, helps me lose weight easily:D
