How do you lose weight if you have a slow metabolism?

Im 5’5, and I weigh 150 pounds. I did a diet and instead of losing weight, i gained weight because i wasn’t getting enough fiber. I’m open to almost any ideas because I feel like i’m gaining weight every day and i’m SO sick of being fat. I am also very active, I play volleyball and go jogging a few times a week. What should i do?
