How can I lose weight quickly and keep it off?

I’m 16, 5’7″ and I weight about 260 lbs. I want to lose a good amount of weight this summer because next year is my senior year and I want to be able to be at least a size 10 or small by May for prom. What are the most effective exercises and what is the best plan for eating?

eat low fat and small portions. stay active, very active. remember, weight lost fast rarely stays off. 3 pounds per week is really good.

    1. dont bank on the words ‘fast’,’easy’,’simple’ & ‘quick’….to stay safe, you shoudnt lose beyond 3 pounds of fat per week

    2. start brisk walking 40-60mins a day…get a dog or 2 if you find your walking routine boring..or if you are at a gym, experiment all forms of
cardio available and stick to all that you like

    3. drink only water,100% natural/fresh fruit/veggie juices, lowfat milk and lots of green tea

    4. severely limit carbs n fat but eat lean proteins and veggies very well..make sure you eat a good breakfast!foods generally that aid fat loss-
fruits, oatmeal, milk, raw nuts, fish, beans, veggies, small chunks of dark chocolate and herbal teas.

    5. do adequate amounts of pilates/yoga/strength training to get the best from your cardio, make slight adjustments to your workout routines
every 2 or 3 weeks to avoid plateaus

    6. be smart when eating out or at events/functions(such as preparing your own meal & eating in advance)

    7. dont trust myths like “no food after 7pm”…you have to stay nourished to lose fat,..the best you can do if you are scared to eat is perhaps
drink a glass of ice chocolate lowfat milk mixed with a tsp of instant softened oatmeal…

    8. Always push yourself n never give up!but get enough rest too…Stay focused on your goal and God bless you…

Prom tickets cost more than a personal trainer at 24 hour fitness. I highly suggest you look into this. He or she does not only teach you your personal program but they teach you a new life style. There is so much involved in dieting than just losing weight. You already have the desire. Now just make the move. The gym can become a hobby. Not a burden. Good Luck,

Fast weight loss does not last, when trying to loose weight you should never loose more than 2 pound per week. You need to diet, 6-8 small portioned meals(1 serving is one hand full) make sure to eat breakfast in the morning this will jump start your metabolism, and drink lots of water to keep your body flushed out and eating any kind of roughage is good too(raw veggies), also you should do a 30 minutes cardio exercise at least every other day, more would help loose the lbs. faster but dont forget you should give your body at least one day a week with no exercise so it can recuperate.

I did this weight loss paln and I lost 50 pounds in 6 months…

For breakfast have one packet of instand oatmeal with one slice of diet toast

For lunch have soup (a both based soup NOTHING CREAMY)
with a sandwich (again use diet bread) with one slice of ham and mustard…NOT MAYO.

For dinner you can have whatever you want but only one serving. And make sure it is cooked healthy.

Work out 5 days a week for 30 min.

No matter what ya do…even if you are not hungry…eat all of your food from that menu above. You won’t snack as much.
If you do need a snack, keep sugar free jello and sugar free pudding (made with skim milk) at hand.

    Good luck!

The trick to losing weight is to find a snack tha you like.Make your own healthy trailmix. Buy walnuts , almonda, cashews ( they can’t be cooked in any kind of fat so i suggest you get them raw and toast them in the oven buy yourself for 5 min) and raisins (for the sweet tooth or dried peices of apricots anything switch it up so you don’t get bored.). make portions in baggies for the week. And before you leav eyou house take a baggy. don’t take two bags or 3 only one and eat when you get hungry. A a daily meal should be…..
BREAKFAST : 1/2 cup of oatmeal with fresh squezzed orange juice.or plain yogurt( to sweeten use honey) healthy granola and a serving of fruit)

LUNCH: someting heavy like soups ( pea, lentil, chicken, etc) or beans .lunch should be your main meal of the day. always have a portion of meat( the size of your fist) with that.

DINNER: a salad(something light). with lots of vegtables ( tomatoes[i know its a fruit] , avocodoes , cucumbers go all the way) and change the dressing so you don’t get bored through out the year.

And your snacks should be that baggy of trail mix that you have on the go at all times.

Also wait 1 1/2 -2 hrs before going to bed after you eat your last meal.

on Weekends are you only allowed to do a small cheat. and just because you cheated alittle doesn’t mean you go the rest of the day cheating.

    FOR EXCERSISE:
enroll in a gym( this is your new hang out) and go for 2 hrs
4-5 days a week after school. do your legs for 1 hr and arms& abs another hr. if you don’t have a local gym try jogging around your block or biking for an hr and for the arms buy osme weights abs do the cruntches .

You have to come up with some type of a reward system, this will help keep you motivated. One of the best things to do is make a contingency contract. Stating what you want to do, who will help you do it, and what do you get for doing it.

Then also try to find a well balance diet program. My friend did this one diet program where the average weight lose is 7 pounds in 9 days. It might be the thing you are looking for, I know it’s well balanced. If you want e-mail me and I can tell you more about either of these.

    3. Know exactly where to find the healthy food!

It is honestly just as easy to run in to the local supermarket and get a bag of carrots and some almonds as it is to run into a Quickie-Mart and buy some harmful processed food. You can go absolutely anywhere now and find healthy meal options but you must know what you are looking for. Stay away from most packaged foods as the label indicates more of a science experiment than anything that would be close to food. No one needs all of those toxins in their body. Labels should have 2 – 3 items, at most. And the best foods don’t have labels.

Don’t let time be your excuse. If you stop to eat 2-3 times per day and snack in between it is just as easy to find something healthy as it is to find something harmful. Don’t let your body come to a shrieking halt before you decide to do anything about your weight and your health. You know what will be a huge impediment on your time? If you or a family member becomes ill due to poor nutrition and lifestyle habits. So tackle the problem now before it really does begin to affect your time and your life! You can replace cars, homes and all material items, but you only get one body! Take good care of it.
