What’s the fastest (and most legal) way of gaining muscle?

I don’t have time throughout my day to spend working out, including lifting weights or going to a gym. All I have time for is at least packing healthy lunches. I would love to gain more muscle and maybe loose a little weight. How can I do it?

    Sure, you could lose some weight by eating right and cutting out the bad stuff, but you arent going to burn off the fat without exercise……..>

    Muscle building is a process where literally the muscle is strained until the muscle fibers actually tear slightly. This forces the muscle to rebuild itself, and it does so by creating new muscle cells in and around the damaged areas. This can only be accomplished through exercise.

    That said, if you spend 25 minutes a day working a specific muscle group, you can make slow gains. Get some small weights and look up a home workout routine (bodyrock.tv has some good ones). Make sure to keep up your routine for at least 6 weeks straight before you decide if you want to give up or not, you will not see results immediately!

    As has already been mentioned there is no way to get muscle gains without working out BUT you can see improvement with relatively little effort.

    Firstly you need to find out what your goals are, not to come up with goals that focus on outcome like ‘I want to lose weight and build muscle’ you need to make goals for yourself like eating healthy every day or doing a workout twice a week. The reason for this is that you can control goals like when you workout but you can’t control if you build muscle. You can do everything right but at the end of the day your body controls muscle growth, not you.

    Secondly you need to focus on your nutrition, get healthy unprocessed foods into your diet, cut our fast food or foods with more than 5 ingredients. If you are going shopping you should be able to do 90% of your shopping without going down the aisles as all the fresh food is on the outside. Once you have a diet of healthy foods, a good mixture of protein, carbohydrates and fats and you control the amount of calories you eat per day you will start to lose weight.

    Lastly you want to gain muscle and as we now know you can’t gain muscle without working out. Luckily you don’t need to workout 7 days a week for hours at a time. You need half an hour twice a week and you will make muscle gains. When you do workout you want to use 80% of your one rep max (heaviest weight you can lift for one rep) and do a very low amount of reps. You do compound exercises (that work multiple muscle groups) and you make sure you get enough rest between workouts.
