What’s the difference between eating calories and grams of fat?

I know that extra calories get stored as fat, but what about grams of fat? How is eating a 300 calorie, 30-grams-of-fat meal different from eating a 700 calorie, much lower fat meal? are they the same if you’re only worried about cutting calories/losing weight?

Thanks for all your answers– I know a lot about this stuff but this one thing always confused me!

Calories = amount of energy from food

Fat = a form that calories are present in food

    Simply, fat = 9 calories carbs = 4 calories protein = 4 calories

A 90 calorie 9 gram of fat meal is pretty much the same as 90 calories of 22.5 grams of protein, in terms of weight gain/loss.

Eating fat will NOT make you fat if it is within your calorie limits. That is a very very common misconception.

person above me is right. Fat does not make us fat. Excess calories and lack of exercise makes us fat.

    Your example:

They are not the same because the caloric level is different.

When trying to lose body fat you should first determine your caloric level. typically it’s multiplying your bodyweight by 10. THEN more importantly than just “calories” is the CONTENT of those calories. The nutrients. Protein/Carbs/Fats.

1500 calories from Carbs alone will make your body look horrible.
650 from protein/650 from fats/200 from carbs will make your body look great!

(1500 is just an example number)

The next time I learn a blog, I hope that it doesnt disappoint me as much as this one. I imply, I do know it was my choice to learn, however I actually thought youd have one thing interesting to say. All I hear is a bunch of whining about something that you could fix if you werent too busy on the lookout for attention.
