How much exercise is enough to lose weight?

I have started swimming twice a week, hope to do so three times a week and also play badminton once a week too. Is this enough exercise in a week to lose weight safely? Bearing in mind I am eating a balanced diet. Just want to do things properly!

    Hey dude. Yeah I’m a swimmer too.. I swim 3 times a week and I do a 40min run if I can. I’ve toned up quite a bit and everything about me is stronger including my mental health. It depends how hard you swim really, I do quite a lot of butterfly and freestyle. Keep at it, great thing is I’ve been able to eat whatever I want and I still drop the calories!

    Do around 20 Min’s a day with a good diet. This will work to start and then alter.

    well calculate it out. calculate the average total daily consumption of food, then how much calories expenditure gained from exercise. compare the two if your exercise is significantly influencing body’s work and basically infer/educated guess about how much weight you might be losing.

    A pound of fat is 3,500 calories. So, to burn 1 pound a week, you must burn 500 calories more per day than you eat. I believe that your exercise regimen should help you lose fat, though you might gain weight in muscle.

    Every exercise is useful and will help to burn off calories, keep it up, watch your diet and hopefully you will succeed. It is a slow process so don’t get disheartened.
