How much exercise should I do to lose weight?

Currently, I’m doing the hip hop abs videos and am disappointed because I’m not seeing any results. The videos are only about a half hour each. How long should one generally exercise each day in order to see results. I know you should burn more calories than you eat but I just want to know a general range of time that one should exercise when trying to lose weight.

    i was pushing 350 lbs. i started to do 30 minutes of cardio & lift weights for about an hour. within 3months i have lost 60 lbs. eating healthy also helped.

    That half hour of exercise is enough. Of course, the more the better. I think you have to concentate more on calories. Cut out sugar, fried foods, fast food, and snacks in general. Eat lots of fruits and veggies. Lean fish (tuna in water is fine), and chicken and egg WHITES. In order to maintain a weight , you multiply that weight by 15. For example, if you weigh 100 pounds, you would maintain by eating 100X15=1500 calories. So figure out your target weight X 15, and that’s how many calories you want to eat a day. An hour of exercise a day should be plenty. There are 3500 calories in a pound. (UH-OH, now you have to get out the calculator). Only eat when you’re hungry;not bored. If you’re about to cheat, go brush your teeth. WILLPOWER, girlfriend! You can do it ! I know it!! 🙂

    30 minutes should be good. Make sure you are really getting an exercise from the video. I worry about following videos at home because it’s easy to slack off or not do things properly. You should be exercising 4-5 times a week.

    It really depends on your weight and height. Weight loss should be gradual. You should normally lose 1-3 pounds a week. Losing a pound may not be obvious, but if you keep at it for a month you could drop 5-10 pounds. The more overweight you are the faster you will lose the weight. The more lean you are the harder it is.
