How to persuade someone to lose weight? Good ways to lose weight?

My mother is obese (115ish kg) and I’m very worried. She has tried in the past but these usually don’t last for more than a week so nothing happens. I need something to persuade to keep her at it please.
Also anyone know good ways to lose weight AND keep it off? (Other than saying exercise and eat healthy, please be more specific)
My mother is 55yrs and doesn’t have to much spare money so it would be great if these suggestions would be suited for her weight, age and bank account.

    While she is on her diet, keep telling her how great she looks. Take her shopping at the mall…walking around the mall is a great way to exercise. Try adding 2 Tablespoons of Olive OIl to one of her daily meals. She will drop 10 pounds in 3 weeks if she can just keep at it. I used to weigh 204.8 pounds until I added olive oil to my diet. It works, try it.
