How often and for how long can/should I fast to improve health and help weightloss?

I’ve heard it said that you can actually fast in short periods of time and it will both aid weightloss as well as clear out your vascular system, bowels, kidneys, liver etc…

But how often and for how long can/should I fast to improve my health, and aid in the process of weightloss?

Actually thats the exact oposite of what you should do. When you stop eating the body goes into a sort of shock or shits down. Any food that it can gain during or immediatly after the fasting will be stored as fat in case the body ever has a hard time getting food again. So on the contrary you will probably gain weight if you fast.

It is a possibility to lose weight rapidly but you should be realistic and understand that if you lose weight rapidly then you will almost certainly put it all back on again just as rapidly. I lost 8 pounds for the last month when I had a special celebration to go to, and I did it by following the guidance presented on the site in the box below.

you should actually eat small meals every 2.5 – 3 hours, it speeds up you metabolism.
fasting of any kind will cause your metabolism to slow way down and you’ll gain weight.

fasting is said to help with health when it is used consistently. if you don’t eat for several days, then go back to your normal way of eating, you will gain weight back as well.
however, if you adopt fasting as a normal part of your routine, your body and your metabolism will adapt.
i think that fasting can be helpful for health and spirituality, but i don’t think it will be beneficial if you are looking at it as a quick way to lose a few pounds just this once.

i also prefer juice fasting to water fasting, because you still receive vitamins and nutrients that are needed for health and detoxification.
here is a great site with advice on juice fasting and healthy eating:
