How do I lower my resting heart rate while still gaining muscle?

Hi, I’m 20 yrs old, 6’1 145-150 ibs, been looking to gain muscle, but my resting heart rate SUCKS! I just checked it right now, it was somewhere like 72-75bpm. I know a lot of cardio messes up the plan for muscle gain, how can I still go about gaining muscle and lowering my resting heart rate?

Well you are lacking endurance, that’s always when you start building muscles.

You have to focus the first 3 a 6 months on cardio or jogging to stabilize your heart-beat rate. And than you can change the focus on building muscles and just maintain the cardio.

And you will see and feel that building muscles will go much easier as well.

You’re right that cardio makes it harder to gain muscle, but that doesn’t mean you need to avoid it entirely. Try doing about 20 mins on days you don’t work out. This way you can get some cardio in, while still bulking up in time for summer. I’m sure that’s what you’re aiming for…
