What is the best diet to lose weight fast but also keep it off?

I currently weigh about 180 and would like to slim to 140 by the end of the summer. I have been trying to “eat better” but it is not happening fast enough (I have also been working out 3 times per week and walking/running every evening as I don’t expect to do it with food alone). I have heard so many different ways to eat but am wondering if anyone has a personal experience to share as far as low carb/no carb, counting calories, or even the crazy ones.

    i have lost 30 pounds in 4 months. i eat 1500 calories a day. i do cardio 6 days a week, weights 2 days a week and pilates 7 days a week. safe and healthy weight loss isn’t going to happen overnight. if you lose it too fast, you will most likely end up gaining it all back and then some. just eat healthy and keep exercising. you may not be to 140 by the end of the summer, but you will be on your way to that goal. good luck.

It lets you set goals, helps you set up an eating and exercise plan, and gives you a place where you can track your food and exercise. Sparkpeople also has all sorts of fitness and nutrition articles, as well as a great community where you can get help and encouragement from other members. The best part is that it doesn’t cost anything!! I highly recommend the Sparkpeople plan – I’ve had alot of success with this in the past.

    u need a permanent diet change for permanent results. if u lose weight then go back to ur old eating habits the weight will alll come back.

    lower ur cals is a must, thats essential for fat loss. U need to burn more cals then u eat in order to lose weight. Limiting ur carbs can help too, this works for some better then others though.

    To lose weight you should up your exercise to 5 days a week. But don’t lose more than 3lbs per week(it is unhealthy to lose too much weight too quickly). You also shouldn’t eat past 6:00 p.m. And make sure you eat some carbs because if you don’t eat carbs you won’t have the energy to work out. Good luck!
