How can I lose weight in a healthy way?

I want to lose the weight fast for the summer and I know the quickest way is to go on the low-carb, high-protein diet like the South Beach or Atkins Diet. The problem: All that protein makes my cholesterol level rise up (High cholesterol runs in the family). Another problem is that I sometimes want to eat sweet things but no fruits are allowed on the low-carb diets. How can I lose weight in a healthy way?

    Chances are that if you wanna lose it that fast, you aren’t going to do it in a healthy way.
    The healthiest way to lose weight is to eat a BALANCED diet…Most people will tell you that this is a 40-30-30 diet.
    40% of calories from good carbs, 30% protein and 30% good fats
    Also regular exericse….this includes cardio and weight training.

    find daily calorie intake calculator on the net, enter all your stats and it will tell you how many calories you need a day to maintain, take off 300-400cal off that number and thats how much you need to lose.
    eat 5-6 small meals a day (eat every 2-3 hours – it optimizes your metabolism)
    5-8 servings of fruit and veggies a day
    8 glasses of water
    have complex carbs for breakfast – they give you energy
    have protein (lean meat, legumes etc) for dinner – repairs muscle
    cardio exercise 4-6 times a week for 30-50min (ideally 45min because the first 20-30min body burns carbs and only then starts burning fat), light weight training (more muscle=faster metabolism)
    dont consume foods that are made of white flour (white bread, cakes, pasta etc.), sugar loaded foods (cookies, icecream, candy etc) and nothing fried, oily.
    ofcourse you can spoil yourself once in a while with a little treat:)

    i don know how fast you wan it to be.
    i took heavy breakfast like eggs, bacon and low fat milk. eat about 70-80% full at lunch and light dinner. take a stroll in the park every evening for around 30 mins and sleep for 8 hrs a day. i lost a dress size in 1and a half month.

    take more veggies.
