Get new friends and imagine yourself in 10 years if you don’t quit…not cool.

OK, first of all, pot isn’t even addictive. I know. I’ve smoked it before for many years, stopped for almost 5 years now because I could care less either way, had a joint last week… and oh wow!! I’m not addicted. Get a life, Seriously.

Since there are not physical withdrawal symptoms and only psychological ones I’d consult you to find a replacement, I don’t mean another drug or alcohol either.

Also it helps if you don’t hang around when people are smoking, it’s incredibly hard to not want to smoke if you smell it.

Since I started my new job, I’ve limited smoking to weekends only, and I get krunk on Everclear during the week. In my professional opinion, I recommend switching from pot-head to alcoholic.

Take yourself out of the environment. If its easily accesible you’ll have problems quitting. Its actually a lot easier than you think. You just can’t be near it. You’ll hit a bowl without even realizing just because its your pattern.

Pot is not physically addictive, just mentally.

    So, have some self control.

Maybe you don’t need to stop. I did for about three months while I was looking for a job, and stressed about it. Now that I’m more secure, I’ve started again, and it feels like the right thing to do. I just make sure I only do it on weekends, and one or two days a week.

I think we all need ways to change our mood and have a moment to look at life from a different angle. Pot seems to provide that.

When I quit, the nights were the hardest. I started drinking beer, and when I wanted nothing, I had to occupy my thoughts with reading and writing. After about a week you kind of forget about it. Pot seems to be food for the mind. So you need some other food to feed it.

One good thing about quitting is that your dreams get really intense. And in a great way, they are much better than the ephemeral high.

Oh wait i got this one, STOP.

jk, give complete control of your money to someone you trust. everything even small cash and coins.

You also need to take a break from the people in your life that smoke pot. It’s not that they’re bad people, it’s just that they are each a possible enabler. Don’t hang around anyone who will enable you.

Also, you’re in college? Do you smoke as a way to deal with stress or just as a time waster?

If you smoke to deal with stress you need to find another outlet. I would suggest Racketball.

If you smoke to blow off some extra time, I would suggest making your schedule so busy that literally you don’t have time to smoke.

Meaning you have class class class, tutor, tutor, study study type schedule. In which the mass majority of your time is spent in a professional situation with people who won’t put up with smoking.
The pressure’s of professionalism can be a positive influence. I know many people who have used professional situations to force themselves to quit smoking, or drinking.

Or if that’s too strenuous an Idea, you can always blow off some time playing Racketball. I use this example mainly because it is fun, social, and healthy. Exercising will force your body to start craving more exercise. As social activity creates the craving for more social activity.

Take lots of vitamins, to keep up your strength. The B12 vitamin Niacin will especially help to clean your system of the poison creating the high people smoke pot to get.

Man, I feel your pain i’m currently going though the same thing its like people just don’t know its like your routine. what u think about before bed and when you get up.

I’m also a nursing student and i can function normally with it….no one suspects it at all but underneath it all that’s pretty much all I do..yes, it is expensive but at the time you don’t care about the money till its gone..I’ve tried to stop before and was good 4 about 4 months. then back again.

I wish they had some type of pill that could ween you off like cigarettes but no one really research’s it well. I think im gonna see a psychologist for some prozac or xanax as needed to help the process.

GOOOOOD LUCK. i feel your pain!!!

You have to try, try and try stop smoking. Think of the negative effects. How do you feel when you are shown a mad man on the street that smoking marijuana has caused his madness. Think of how the society treats the mad. Think of how much you are spending on it.Think of the advantage you are deriving from smoking and weigh it with the disadvantage. Would you want to state your future? As a student you should have goals that you want to accomplish in life. Do you want to kill your good dreams? These collective thoughts will always make you to quit smoking. I smoke mari for 24 yrs till when I was running out of my profession as a successful banker. I took a deep thought for good three days.A friend of mine introduced me to an inspirational book -Stop Smoking Audiobook which I bought and downloaded from http://51w.us/stopsmoking . After listening to it, i took a final step to quit it. Today, it is a testimony.

The more you fight it the more you will want to. It’s not physically addictive, so you don’t want to stop. Is it that you feel guilty or something? You don’t have to stop smoking if you don’t really want to. If it’s because of a urinary analysis then get a drink or fake urine.

I’ve smoked for over 5 years and i quit for months at a time w.o problem, it is a mental addiction not a physical one so find another habit or learn some more self control/discipline. Not too sure why your so dead set on quiting, if i feel like stopping for awhile i do but I’ve never had any intention to quit for good.
