Can anyone reccomend a travel/health insurance for a working/holiday ski season in Canada?

I am also backpacking for 7 weeks and am not planning to come back to the UK.

Dont take out Ambassador insurance through GWL, I got sick thinking I had full coverage overseas, and they then said they had lost my form, claimed I had never sent it to them in the first place, when they finally confirmed coverage they exempted me for the EXACT problem I had so although they said it was retroactive coverage it was pure bull sh** They are dishonest, crooks IMO. Stay well away from both Great West Life and Ambassador. I’m in the process of filing a law suit against them because I am out over $14,000.00 in medical expenses.

It took every cent I had, then had to beg on the internet for help with a flight home so I could have surgery in Canada, I couldnt pay for it myself overseas. At one point my doctor was panicking and thinking I was becoming septic and could die before I got back to Canada, and believe me so was I !

I used http://www.worldwideinsure.com/ in my backpacking days and have remained a customer since. Their customer service are pretty good if you need to make a claim and are understanding. They are also helpful when you need to identify your requirements and in helping you decide which policy to go for – they do not have an aggresive sales pitch.
