What are some easy to make healthy meals?

Im a teenager and have to cook healthy meals for myself as my family eat unhealthily. I have been cooking things like jacket potatoe with tuna mayo(light) or cheese or salmon, chicken breast with salad, chicken wraps. Im not very good at cooking, i can just about use the oven.

    Tuna Pasta Bake

    dried pasta
    1 onion, chopped
    1 clove of garlic, crushed
    1 tin tuna
    1 tin chopped tomatoes
    mixed dried herbs or oregano
    grated cheese

    *

Put the pasta on to cook for about 10 minutes.Drain the pasta once cooked.

Use tuna in oil if you have some. Pour a bit of the oil from the tuna into a pan and fry some onion and garlic (if you have it). Pour away the rest of the oil. Add the tuna to the pan, and heat through and mix up for a minute.

Add a tin of chopped tomatoes and some mixed herbs or oregano, and a little black pepper. Cook for 5-10 minutes.
    Add to cooked pasta.

To make it into a ‘bake’ pile it all into an oven dish, and top with cheese.
    Bake for 20-30 minutes at 180 C/Gas 4.

First of all, You are very responsible, you should be proud of yourself. Here is my secret on vegetables….Frozen Veggies are quick and easy, season them with Hidden Valley Ranch dressing or dip packets. You do not have to make the mix, the powder makes a great fat free seasoning.
Dice up some chicken, or use canned chicken and throw in your favorite veggies, season with ranch, dinner served!

    Hiya

Just put any fish or chicken onto a large piece of foil and add what ever flavours you like….lemon and garlic, chilli, lemon grass, herbs etc. Then fold the foil up around it to create a parcel and put in the oven. It steams it with all the flavours and is super healthy and tasty! Serve with boiled rice, sweet potato mash or boiled new potatoes and either salad or steamed veg. (put chopped veg in a bowl with 2 table spoons of water, cover with cling film and then pierce it in several places and mircowave for 3-5 mins or more if still not cooked)

    Hope this helps.

Good on you! Keep it up, you’ll reap the benefits in the future – might even convert your family.

I have heaps of healthy easy recipes. Try canned chick peas with heaps of chopped parsley, red onion, capsicum and lemon juice/olive oil dressing. Throw in a tin of tuna if you like. This keeps in the fridge for a while too. Or stir fry veggies very quickly in very hot olive oil in a wok, throw on some soy sauce and have with steamed rice (cooking directions on the pack). Frozen mixed vegetables with rice and a bit of olive oil is good too.

try http://www.allrecipes.com it has a variety on there to choose from.
Other things that can be healthy are pasta bolognese, stuffed peppers with cous cous kebabs with chicken tomato mushrooms etc
fish flans lasagne moussaka. a variety of soups you can make one pot stews and casseroles are easy enough to manage.
You are doing a really good thing by encouraging your family to eat healthy, why don’t you ask one of your parents to help you in the kitchen maybe they know a few other things.
You will get better the more you practise, good luck.
