Why do people expect to lose a lot of weight quickly, when it took a long time to gain weight ?

Everyday, I see questions like “How can I lose 30 pounds by next week” or “Help ! I need to lose 100 pounds by summer.” How many of you have ever put on a ton of fat real quickly ? If it was easy losing weight real quickly (other than surgery or getting cancer or AIDS), we’d all be doing it and there wouldn’t be hundreds of diet books out there…

Because some people are quite lazy and the thought of doing any kind of exercise or something as simple as switching to a healthy lifestyle is too exhausting to contemplate. All they want is a quick-fix. Can’t blame them really can we? Not while were sitting on our own arses typing questions and answers on this computer and probably storing more calories than we would have done if we would have gone down to the gym. I wonder how much weight I’ve put on since I discovered answers last week!!! I’ll be asking you next week how I can lose 8 pounds in two hours…got any ideas??
