what’s an effective, healthy, and fairly quick way to lose some weight?

At home i have a treadmill, some weights, an eliptical machine, and a recumbent bike.

i was planning on losing 20-30 pounds by the end of the year.

suggestions on specific food would be appreciated.

just to let you know i can’t do that thing where you eat 5 meals a day because i’m in school.

    Great! I have been doing this routine which I recommend to everyone for over 13 years. I am 60. Stop eating as much red meats and pork as possible. Stop eating junk foods. Stop under all circumstances drinking sodas as they are the number one cause of osteoporosis in women and men.
    Start eating more fresh vegetables raw in salads, stir-fried with tofu in extra virgin olive oil or steamed. Start eating more fresh fruits for snacks or desserts. Start drinking organic fruit juices not store brand or other market juices. Drink 6 to 8 bottles of pure water every day. Walk, use that treadmill to walk at least two miles every day and work your way up to 5 miles. Do this forever. At the end of thirty days you will have lost up to thirty pounds and converted anything else to toned muscle. You will have more energy, more stamina, more all around vitality and more mental acuity than almost everyone around you. If you do this until you are well past middle age all of your friends will be begging you to tell them your anti-aging secrets. Do this, it works.

    The best way to start is by eating properly and exercising. Always remember to eat breakfast, it helps to set your metabolism for the rest of the day. Also, drink plenty of water. Swimming is a great way to work out and not get sore. Eating fruits and vegetables (instead of chips, candy, cookies) will help as far as snacks go. Stay away from soft drinks (unless they’re diet).
