The other responders are correct. Whey protein is a great choice. I’ve also seen hemp protein (yes, hemp!), which may also work for you.

If you are working out, you should be getting between 1 and 1.5 grams of protein per pound of bodyweight. The best protein sources are whole foods such as chicken, fish, and turkey. Realistically, we usually cannot eat that much food, so protein supplements are an excellent way to ensure we get the protein required.
With that said, whey protein is the most complete protein. It has almost all amino acids and contains the very important BCAA s. It also contains immunoglobins to help your immune system. The key to good protein powder is to find one that has a high concentration of BCAAs (Leucine, Isoleucine, and valine).
Timing is very important as well. You should have 25-40 grams of protein within an hour of beginning your workout. As soon after your workout as possible, take in another 40-50 grams of protein with some carbs (fruit, oatmeal, etc.).
This is only the tip of the iceberg, but it should get you started. If you want to discuss further, see me at http://www.bendsupplements.com
