what is the best way to lose weight without buying expensive gym equipment?

i do have an exercise bike but i wanted a way to lose weight on the majority of my body that i can in-corperate into working full time.

    I’ve lost about 30 pounds with walking. Walking is a great low-impact aerobic exercise that you can do for free outside, or (my preference) at the mall.

    I read an article in a women’s magazine that said if you switch between walking fast and walking slow, then you’ll burn more calories. The reason is that your heart rate increases and you burn more calories while walking fast; then when you slow down, your heart rate slows but you keep burning calories at the same rate for a while. When you walk fast again, you burn MORE calories while your heart rate is speeding back up.

    I’ve found that I can walk a lot farther with this method, versus walking fast the whole time, because you get a little break every 10-15 minutes. I recorded several playlists onto my MP3 player, with one slow song, three fast songs, one slow song, etc. This way you don’t have to keep watching the clock, and the music lifts your mood and makes the time go faster.

    I also bought a resistance band (long stretchy cord with two handles) for about ten bucks at Walmart. With that, you can do lots of different strength training exercises without expensive weights.
