What are some good ways to lose weight after baby?

I just had my second son 2 weeks ago. During the pregnancy I gained almost 50 lbs and now that he’s out I’ve gained another 5 lbs!! How is that possible?

I want to start trying for another baby in the fall but my husband says he doesn’t think it would be healthy for me to have another pregnancy so soon, especially if I can’t lose the weight and then I just gain more. I think I’m healthy, I try to eat healthy but it’s hard to find time for exercise. I need to lose weight so that I can have anoher baby soon because I want them close in age.

Right now I weigh 270 lbs and I’m fine just having a little pain in my knees!

Losing weight is a simple equation: if you burn more calories than you eat, the weight will come off. Start off by estimating how many calories you burn each day using the calorie calculator http://straighthealth.com/pages/tools/caloriecalclb.html This will give you an idea of how many calories to eat. Healthy weight loss is 1-2 pounds per week. To lose 1 pound per week you need to create a calorie deficit (burn more than you eat) of 500 calories per day. To lose 2 pounds a week, you have to double the deficit to 1000 calories per day. You can achieve this by eating less, exercising more or a combination of both.

First start with a strict diet. Go to a nutricionist for advice. I recomend going to the gym and asking the trainers for help. Don’t eat junk food. Eat veggies, friuts, and low fat things.
Hope everything turns out for you.

Try little workouts, like instead of elevators or escalators try stairs. Instead of driving every single little place, walk. And also a catching trend is belly dancing. It’s fun and helps trim and sculpt the body and you can hardly call it a workout because your having soo much fun.

270 lbs? thats ruff. i would cut down on the food you eat right away. eat only fruits and vegtables. take vitamins. 270 is obese. you should be around 150 tops. im not trying to be rude, i hope you dont take it that way. try going vegan for a while i lost 45 lbs this way in 3 months. drink only water.

Being honest AND BLUNT. depending on how tall you are… well thta doesnt really matter because 270 pounds is considered obese. As you probably know already.. that leads to all these complications..blah blah blah, all that junk. I went on a lean cuisine diet after my baby. i was 140 or so when i was pregnant. i am approx.110 right now. standing at 5’4. ALL YOU HAVE TO DO IS….

    Monday to friday.

Lean cuisine. for lunch or dinner or for both. depends, whatever you want. try to buy the ones that do not go over 350 calories. if you decide to eat one a day.. then make a healthy lunch/dinner for yourself. i always love a subway sandwich (turkey breast on wheat, no cheese, lots of lettuce, jalapenos, tomatoes, and onions *mMMmmm* ) you can eat two snacks per day. one in the morning before lunch and one after lunch before dinner. The snacks can consist of vegetables or fruits or even both.
exercise is a must, helps you shed those extra pounds off in half the time. 15 to 30 of cardio and as for toning up.. thats if you want to. you will see results in as little as two days, i promise. It really works. and the meals are actually good. try the paninis and the alfredos. those are my favorites.

remember..whenever you eat… do not over stuff yourself… even if you eat a small portion, you’ll realize that if you just give the food a little bit of time to hit your stomach.. in about 20 minutes.. you’ll be full off a little plate of whatever it is that your eating.

    Try it! good luck.

dont feel guitly to eat a few chocolate snacks here and there after you’ve lost a good 30 pounds or so. Just don’t eat too much of those cause consistancy is also what kept me going. ONce you feel like you ate too much.. .your body could lose it’s motivation and ..that’ll be the end of it.

    Hi there,

My sister was in the same situation after her second child. She didn’t do anything extreme and lbs came off in about 6 months – seems like a long time, but actually when you lose the weight gradually it is more likely to remain off. She is pregnant with no 3 now and has only gained 25lbs because she has been doing things like walking and light weight routines 3 times a week.

She breast fed – totally helped. Your body burns a lot of energy to produce milk. Also like you – not a lot time to do excerise with a new born AND another toddler to take care of… and can’t forget the husband!… What she did, initially after the birth, 3 times a week, husband took care of the kids while she went for 30 – 45 min walks. It helped her a lot just to be outside, plus she was moving which helped her with the post pardum (sp?) depression. Then she went back to the gym and started to use the eliptical machine (note: low impact for knees so no pain) and she added a weight routine – she did this all in 30 mins.

Of course, she watched what she ate. Bascially – lean meats (chicken, fish, turkey), veggies, and fruit. She would keep it interesting by having different veggies and fruits each day. Avoided things like fast food and anything processed (this includes – microwave dinners – alot of them are loaded with salt and sugars which cause you to retain water and feel – bloated. Also will add… you can make a nice salad with just as many calories as those dinners and feel like you ate something besides cardboard with cheese on it.) She only had a dessert on Sunday’s.

I hope this helps you out.
You can do it… just be consistent and don’t give up.
