Stopping Smoking?
I stopped smoking 3 days ago. I knew there would be some side effects from doing so, but all the muscles on the left side of my neck and shoulders have gone incredibly tense and painfull. Has anyone suffered anything like this from stopping smoking? Could it be unrelated? Can you recommend stop smoking websites with a good FAQ section?

That happened to my boyfriend when he quit. You can expect some flu-like muscle soreness and tightness. Anything goes basically. Keep hydrated, eat healthy, even work out and sweat to get some of that crap out of your system. Drink green tea. Stick with it and good luck, you’re doing something really good for yourself.

Believe it or not, phillipmorrisusa.com has smoking cessation pages that are really well-made. Also, if you choose to use the patch or gum or anything like that, they include as part of the price free smoking cessation support over the phone, which is nice when you’re having a craving. I used Zyban and the patch when I quit four years ago, and even though I relapsed, I did succeed for 3 1/2 years. Good luck and remember – it’s worth it! 🙂

Normal. It was an addiction, after all. Keep the fluids running, and to stave off the urge, I got a big bowl and mixed M+M’s and Cocktail peanuts together, and used them for my hand to mouth urge. Worked well for me, and I smoked 3 packs a day. Went cold turkey and haven’t looked back….Good Luck!!!
