Losing 60 lbs by December 09?

Hello everyone!

Here’s my weight info so far:
I’m a 21 year-old girl, 5’3″, 199 lbs, and I am Puerto Rican.
I’m currently (since April 09) on a low-calorie diet, daily (1-1:30hr) exercise routine, and with plenty of determination.

I have lost so far a total of 65 lbs through my life (my heaviest: ~265lbs). I have been on the 200-scale for nearly 10 years, and I decided with all the physical and mental problems, to put an end to this. I have lost 20 lbs in the last two months, I was wondering if it is possible, if I keep this up (modifying and changing routines, I’m sure), if I could manage to lose ~60 lbs by this December? I do not want to exaggerate but this would be my dream, I graduate in December and it is an important time for me, and I wish to be in good shape!

I am looking for exercises for inner and outer thighs, stomach, and arms, which seems to be my most troublesome areas. Since I have been loosing weight fairly quickly, I am dreading the saggy/flabby skin forming. How can I also get stretch marks to go down some?

It’s all part of the process!

Any tips or advice on this would be greatly appreciated! Thank you!

60 pounds by then would be pushin it, but you could lose close to that much. Keep doing what you are doing. Cardio is what will make you lose weight fastest. Running, jogging, biking, and swimming. You wont have saggy skin as long as you keep doing it the right way. Stretch marks are scars and will not go away. The only thing you can try doing is buying a Vitamin E lotion and applying it daily. This will help for the scarring to fade into the color of your skin being less visible. good luck!

Exercising helped me to lose a load of weight once I married it together it along with taking acai berry. I understand they say that pills do not work, but they sure worked for me, and they have been featured on the Rachael Ray Show too. There’s a free trial going on at the moment at http://mapacers.t28.net , try it out, what is the worst that could happen?

Congratulations on your weight loss! You will lose more body fat eating protein and fat (don’t eat protein alone) than not eating AT ALL. To lose weight fast eat all you want but nothing but meat, eggs, healthy oils, mayo, butter and half an avocado a day (you’ll need added potassium). Keep the calories high and the fat percentage high, at least 65% of calories. Adding in green vegetables & some cheese will continue weight loss but at a slower pace.

If you starve yourself by lowering calories lower than are needed for the body to function, your body will freak out and will want to store every ounce in case it doesn’t get nourished again. You need to give it adequate nourishment so it doesn’t slow your metabolism down to adjust for lower calories.

Simple carbohydrates (sugar, flour, bread, cereal, pasta, potatoes, rice) triggers insulin which can store the calories you eat into fat. The more protein you eat the more the fat burning hormone glucagon is released. The more carbohydrate you eat the more the fat storage hormone insulin is released.

Simple carbs are addictive and can be disastrous to our health. The best way to break the addiction is NO carbs for 3 days. Make a huge batch of deviled eggs and eat one every time you want “something” have huge omelets for breakfast, with bacon, a lil onion, peppers, mushrooms & cheese. Pork chops for lunch. Get pork rinds and eat them with tuna salad. Steak for dinner. Make a huge sugar free cheese cake for dessert. Eat so much you won’t feel deprived of anything. By the fourth day, your addiction will be gone and you can start making healthy choices.

High insulin levels unbalance other hormones. Controlling your insulin level will balance out other hormones & allow human growth hormone (HGH) to be produced naturally so you will gain lean muscle even without exercise. Any exercise will greatly increase your muscle mass with high HGH levels.

Dr.Atkins was a cardiologist, low carb was a health plan easier sold as a “diet” Read any of his books for easily understandable science. Lutz “Life without Bread” & Taubes “Good calorie, bad calorie” are excellent books that dispel all the nutrition myths.

Reducing body fat and increasing muscle mass will have you in awesome shape in no time. Good luck!

You cannot lose 60 pounds by December without taking drastic and potentially hazardous measures.

Do not set a deadline. Instead, calculate the number of calories that you need to maintain your ideal weight (as opposed to your current weight), and consume only that number of calories. You will then gradually lose weight until your weight reaches your target. This may take months or years.

In order to keep the weight off, you must adopt this technique for the rest of your life, not just until you lose the weight. Your body will always gain or lose weight based on how many calories you eat vs. the number that you burn. If you change that, your weight will change. If you go on a diet and lose weight, and then stop the diet, you’ll gain the weight back again. There is no way to get around this.

my advice is, do all over body workouts. you can’t target tone. your body gains weight where it wants, so you can work your thighs only for years and if you don’t lose weight all over its not going to go away. You don’t need fancy exercise. Do crunches, bicep curls, tricep extensions, back rows, should presses, leg lifts, walking, running, calf raises, stair climbing etc. If you do all of these regularly along with the diet, you’re body will look good.
Focusing all your exercise on one area is not going to change anything.
