Lose weight, tone muscle diet?

Hey! I’m going to go to university in less than a month and I’m going to be self-catered and next to a gym. I’ve been going to the gym for over a year but I always go through phases of going religiously and not going at all. My diet has always let me down.
Now I’m in control of my diet I’m wondering what I’ll need to do eat in order to help myself lose weight as well as toning my muscles (I’m not looking to get huge).
I intend to do alot of reps with low weights on my arms, chest, stomach and back followed by a 45 minute run (10 kph).

Thanks for any help guys!!

I wish I was back there, the trick is high protein (chicken, veggies, fish, eggs); low on red meat (lamb, beef); and adjust fat (sugars, alcohol) to how your belly looks when you tuck your shirt in. I’m sure your stomach will look fine because of the running, but your going to need around 3000calories at least per day to be able to tone and run for 45mins on the regime that you intend to stick to.
The protein will provide food to your muscles while they are being asked to do so many reps and all over your body.
If you are naturally big boned then you may need to keep low on protein too but remember the stress that you go through can drain your muscles as your adrenaline and other brain chemicals sometimes tell your body that your full when you are not so at university people generally lose weight (those who study hard).
Best of Luck at uni and with the program!
