Is it unhealthy loosing half a stone in a couple of days ? xx?

Hey.

I am 15 years old and i weighed 9 stone. I really wanted to loose weight quickly so i started to look at the calories in different foods and it really helped. I normally ate a bit more than 2000 calories each day.

But now ive started eating 1000 calories each day.. for only 2 days… and i have done pressups each day and night. So 2 days later i checked my weight on the scales and i am now 8 stone and a half exactly. How amazing is it. Ive tried all sorts of other diets but they haven’t worked. Im going to carry on.. and get to 7 and a half stone.

Like I said last time, you didn’t lose real weight. You lost water weight, or maybe nothing at all since you’re starving yourself (and the reduction is just natural, based on the time of day you weighed in). And once you start eating like a normal person, you’re going to gain it right back. But yes, that is very unhealthy for two days.

First off, you’re just losing water weight, this is going to happen for the first few days.

Secondly, you need to find your BMR and maintenance level and eat 500 calories below that.

Also, 1000 calories a day is starving yourself officially. Eat at least 1500 calories a day if you don’t want to bother finding your BMR (it’s your Basal Metabolic Rate, not your Body Mass Index).

Next I’m going to suggest drinking a gallon of water a day to prevent water retention (what causes excess water weight) and boost metabolism (which will stimulate the amount of calories you burn daily).

Then you’re probably going to want to do cardio 5x a week, and weight training 3x a week.

And another thing, you don’t need to lose weight. You’re at a healthy weight for your age.
