Is it normal to go to the toilet more when dieting?

I have been doing the Weight Watchers diet for 2 weeks now and have found myself needing the toilet more than normal (day and night). Has anyone else experienced this and is it normal?

Yes it’s normal. When you diet, it’s kinda like putting your body on a detox. Your body will rebel against you for a while 🙂

Well, it depends I guess. A friend of mine told me when she goes on a diet and eat purely veggies and fruits she goes to the toilet more often. This is because a lot of green vegetables and fruits have fiber in them, and taking in lots of fibers help in bowel removal.

You have to be aware though that when you go on a diet, once you go back to your old eating habits, you will gain weight faster. So diet is not advisable, just watch what you eat and do exercises.

You can also take green tea to aid in weight loss. I have read that from boosting your immune system, Reducing levels of cholesterol -Reduces high blood pressure -Lowering of blood sugar -Digestive and respiratory health – tea is antibacterial -Oral hygiene – help to prevent tooth decay. -Acne and other skin conditions. -Arthritis – displays anti-inflammatory properties.-, another potentially huge benefit of green tea could as an aid to weight loss.

    Best of luck!

Yes, and it is not a bad thing, if it is a number 1 which you are needing and it is yellow then you need to drink some more water, But if it is clear then you are ok.

If it is a number 2 which you are going for more often, then it means the diet is working, and your are healthy.

And the main reason may be that, your body has to adapt to the change of food quickly.

Usually dieters are instructed to take in more water and fiber. During the first weeks of your diet, you’ll lose a few pounds due to water weight and experience increased bowel movements due to the fiber. So I wouldn’t think it would be too much of an issue to experience a rise in visits to the bathroom. Nonetheless, if you are still concerned, it would be a good idea to pay a visit to the doctor.
