Is 1200 calories a day too much to lose weight fast?

I am currently 112 pounds and I need to lose at least 20 pounds. I usually feel greedy if |I eat over 600cals but today I’ve already eaten 782.6cals. and i might have to eat more with my family which would bring me close to 1200. advice please.. i feel like making myself throw up my family meal cause i ate way too much today :[
I’m short (5’3″) so at 112-115 i look like a fat stump.

    That’s actually a good calorie goal if you are working out regularly. But at 112 lbs I’m not sure how much weight you have to loose. It sounds dangerous.

    112 pounds and if you want to lose 20 more i think you would be too thin, maybe speak to some one as 600 calories a day isnt enough for a women.

    It’s shown that the more you eat the more your metabolism will burn. I have a diet of 2000 cal a day and I have lost 50 lbs. If you feel the need to really restrict your caloric intake please talk to your doctor about good ways to do so. If you can’t eat right your gonna look gross. Please try to be healthy not just for you but for your skin and hair. They won’t look good if you don’t eat enough.

    I think you’re about the right weight for your height. Go more on how you look that how much you weigh.

    Instead of going on crazy crash diet just make a few simple changes like eating less carbs and swapping your normal drinks for water or tea. You’ll soon be looking great.

    you shouldn’t lose weight so unhealthily reduce a 1000 calories from the recommended amount
    and also you are already average weight no need to loose 20 more pounds

    You may have already encountered people who have expressed concern that you have an eating disorder, and maybe have disregarded their concerns since you feel that they don’t understand it is to look the way you do.

    Please, please, please heed their concerns, as well as this one: you don’t need to attempt to aggressively lose weight; you need to seek out the care of a physician who specializes in eating disorders. Ask your family physician or primary care provider for a referral. This is a matter of life and death.

    Also, understand that societal norms, as established via the media paint an unrealistic picture of what “ideal” body weight and appearance should be. Further understand that, in spite of those “ideals,” it is important to develop a sense of self worth that is independent of body appearance. If you lack that sense of self worth, it is all the more important to seek medical advise as soon as possible.

    Everyone here seems to be giving you good advice. Think about what you’re asking and decide if your weight is really something that is more important to you than anything else. 112 lbs at 5’3″ sure wouldn’t make anyone I know unhappy! Still want to lose? Go for it but go slow and take good care of yourself.
