If you are on a diet, would you lose weight at the same speed you put it on?

I’ve lost a stone in the last 6 weeks and I am curious to know if I would have gained the same amount in the smae time frame before I started my diet

It’s hard to say without knowing what your diet and exercise regimen looked like before (when you were gaining weight) and how it looks now. A stone in 6 weeks is quite a bit though. I’m betting you lost that first stone faster than you put it on. Just remember the closer you get to your ideal weight the more difficult it’s going to be to lose weight…

    Sorry – i don’t understand what you are asking…

You mean if you hadn’t have lost a stone, would you have put a stone on instead?

    Its all about calorie intake.

Your weight gain or loss is proportional to the rate at which you consume calories…

I think what you are asking is: If you cut out 6 mars bars and lost 1lb. Would eating 6 extra mars bars make you gain 1lb?

Apparently to lose weight you have to cut out less than you do to gain weight! But I know it certainly doesn’t feel like it – especially when you are on a diet!!!
