I want to lose weight fast, but without starving myself and my energy level to exercise is blah! HELP!?

I have never weighed this much and I don’t understand it! I stopped eating junk food and drinking sodas and alcohol and have been drinking fresh blendered fruit smoothies in the a.m., salads for lunch and lots of coffee and lemon water throughout the day but my midsection is ugh! I want a quick fix because my clothes are not fitting and I hate bulges. Currently I am porking out at size 10-12 but I would like to get back to 7-8. Any suggestions? Please!

Exercise is vital to weight loss. I go on an elliptical machine and watch television. It’s much quieter than a treadmill and you “glide” rather than walk.

First of all, your age is a consideration. Are you age 15 and gaining weight or are you now over 40 and gaining weight? I will presume it is the latter as most teens aren’t drinking loads of coffee. Increased weight and general lack of energy would make me consider checking your thyroid function as this can result in your conditions of weight gain and lack of energy. A general lab panel would be useful and can be ordered by your primary physician.

If that is normal, one should ask one’s self how much excercise have you done in the past? Did you use to work out 3 times a day for an hour, or never at all? Many times lack of excercise leaves one with a decreased sense of energy. The best thing to do is get a partner and start a strict excercise regimen: at least an hour a day, three to four times a week. This should include a cardio workout.

Starvation is not the solution as your body will adjust to the fasting state and just burn calories more efficiently. Then, when you do binge eat, your body will save the extra food as fat. You should consult a dietition for a balanced diet with the number of calories need to meet your target weight.

If you are an adult and excercise and dieting are not helping you could always consider gastric bypass. This site http://www.centerforgastricbypass.com can give you the basics. You might also have a ventral hernia or a weakness of your abdominal musculature. Again, consult with your physician.

Well, if you’ve cut out the bad stuff and you’ve eaten bad stuff for a long time your body is probably loving the good vitamins your giving it and it’s hanging on. You body needs to know that you mean business so stay away from the junk for as long as it takes. Really shock your body with some good exercise, and this will jump start your metabolism. Also, avoid sugar and don’t eat it at all and the combination of the exercise and lack of sugar and refined foods will really help your metabolism. If your really religious about this, you could see 5-10 lbs in a month. Now, exercise shouldn’t be just 20 minutes. Do some good running/fast walking or biking or whatever you like for 30-45 minutes along with some weights (hand weights), pushups, sit ups, squats, etc. Good luck!

Believe it or not, you may not be eating enough. Your metabolism may have slowed down and thinks you are starving so it will hold on to everything and store it. Try adding more lean protein like chicken, turkey and fish to your lunch. Also add a couple of small snacks in between meals. If you are eating 5 or 6 small meals a day (eat something every 2 1/2 to 3 hours), you will actually lose weight faster than not eating very much. Also be aware of your fruit smoothie, sometimes they can hide lots of calories.
Pilates is what helped the most with flattening my tummy.
