I want to lose some belly fat. Will stomach crunches do this?
I’m 15, 5’1 and weigh 135 exactly.
With my new school, I do about 30 minutes of walking everyday and there are about 8 or 9 flights of stairs to go up. All of a sudden, Ive lost 4 pounds, and I’m guessing the new route we take is what’s doing it.
The only part of me that I want to tone up is my stomach, which isn’t really that bad.
My question is,
Will doing stomach crunches everyday make this fat disappear?

The short answer to this question is, No. Stomach crunches will not make the fat disappear. What it WILL do is strengthen your abs, making them more noticeable. To lose fat, keep doing what you are doing: walking up and down stairs. This will help you lose fat over your whole body, and eventually you will lose fat on your stomach as well.
It is a common misconception that by doing certain exercises you will lose fat around the muscles you are working.
