one thing that works for me is before I eat I drink a large glass of water, then if I’m still hungry, I won’t eat as much as I would have.

    also, fyi:

    1 pound = 3500 calories.

If you burn more calories than you eat, you will lose weight.

ie, if you eat 2000 calories per day and burn 2500, you will lose 1 pound every week.

the average person burns 1500-2000 calories per day, just being alive.

powerwalking can burn 200-500 calories per hour.
exercise bike can burn 200-600 calories per hour.
swimming can burn 100-800 calories per hour.
jogging/running can burn 300-1200 calories per hour.

    *********VERY IMPORTANT************

when trying to lose weight, very important to drink lots and lots of water ! ! ! you should drink at least 10 glasses per day, like 1 glass every hour !

this helps your body get rid of the fat when you are burning calories

You were not very specific about what you have done, so I can only tell you what you should have done.

Firstly, to lose weight at the most optimal rate requires you to diet AND exercise. You have to do both. Just doing one or the other may work in the short term, but do not keep the excess weight off nor keep it off for very long.

Dieting means eating balance nutritious meals consisting of high fiber and whole grain foods while avoid refined sugar and bleached or refined flours. Refined sugar and flour packs so much empty calories that it is simply impossible for you to burn it all away. The excess calories will become fat when you sleep at night.

Plus, eating foods high in empty calories will only make you eat more because they are devoid of any essential nutrition so your body will make you feel hungry very soon. Hunger does not mean you didn’t eat enough food, but that you didn’t give your body the nutrients it needs.

Exercising means to do aerobic (cardio) type exercises regularly. This can be but not limited to such things as running/jogging, walking, cyclings, dancing, skiping rope, etc. You will need to do them about 4-5 times a week for a minimum of 20 minutes each time.

Lastly, don’t believe any ads about diet pills or special exercise equipements. It’s ALL scam. Given the pervasive problem of obesity in the US, don’t you think if there was a magic pill, EVERYBODY would know about it and use it? At the very least, the American Medical Association would be recommending it to everyone, but when was the last time that happened? Try – never.
