I had to go for an independent medical report for an insurance claim. The expert diagnosed the wrong finger?

& the wrong hand. I had my Index finger broken in a supermarket accident. This finger is VERY important for my job. Will this help or hinder my case
The expert had all of my x-rays and medical records. He examined both hands. No way did I make him think it was the other hand & he should have known from my medical reports and x-rays which finger was broken

I’m not sure how this can help your case. There could be rather awkward questions asked about how you showed the medical expert not just the wrong finger, but even the wrong hand. It might not give credibility to the case, or the report.

Most likely he examined both hands/fingers as a comparison. I am guessing that this involves your right index finger since most people are right handed.

The insurance company should have the reports and will see that his notes reflect the wrong finger. When you reported this incident, you would have stated that your right index finger had been broken and your xrays would reflect this also. It would also reflect that you had treatment for that finger in the reports.

So for instance the doctor states that there is no permanent injury to say your left index finger, it would make no sense.

Just wait and see what the insurance company states. The doctor may have stated that your right index finger has 10% permanent impairment compared to your left index finger. But if the doctor only states that your left index finger suffered no impairment, then you might ask how they came to this conclusion when this was not the finger involved.

    good luck
