How many calories should you eat while dieting?

Hi, i am desperately trying to lose weight for my wedding and have done reasonably well so far by losing 20lbs in 3 months but not lost anything in last 3 wks, i am eating around 1500 calories a day and doing alot of exercise, should i be eating less than this can anyone advise me on anything to help with my weight loss? Thank u

    I would recommend raising your caloric intake to around 2000 with lean meats and vegetables and some smart carbs….This will raise your metabolism, you will have lots of energy for your work out and burn more fat……..>

    Stay away from breads and crackers. Fruits are good, but keep them to a minimum. Low/no fat milk, absolutely NO fruit juices…….>

    Find your local slimming class and they’ll advise what’s best for you. Generally, men trying to lose weight should be around 1200 calories a day, women around 1100, but much depends on how big you are to start.

They go by ur height weight age and sex to determine ur personal diet! plus if u take the alli (like i am it increases ur weight loss by 50 %) as long as u follow directions well there will be no problems!     females are advised not to go under 1200 a day as the body burns atleast 1200cals a day just by exsisting!

    Firstly, you need to decide your goals, then look into the maths of it.

    How much do you want to lose? In what time?

    Some facts. 1lb of fat contains 3500 calories of energy, so that’s what you need to burn off to lose it. You do this through diet and exercise. A healthy woman needs 2000 calories a day; you are taking in 1500 so creating a deficit of 500. You are also exercising. Lets assume this burns off another 200 calories. That’s a 700 calorie deficit daily. You recover these calories through burning your own fat stores.

    So 3500 / 700 = 1lb lost in 5 days.

    If you kept your exercise the same, but only took in 1300 calories a day, you would create a deficit of 900 calories daily.

    3500 / 900 = 1lb lost in 4 days.

    If you dropped your diet to 1300 calories and did twice as much exercise your deficit would be 1100 calories, 3500/1100 = 1 lb in 3 days.

    For every extra 200 calories burnt a day you add up to a day less to lose 1lb.
