How many calories should I be burning to flatten my stomach?

Hi, i’m a 17-year old female and I weigh approx. 106 lbs.
All the fat I consume seems to go straight to my stomach, leaving me with a bulgy belly and lovehandles.
I just recently joined a gym, and I would like to know how many calories I should be burning. I consume less than 2000 calories per day, but the thing is, I don’t want to lose wieght. I just want to tone my body. Any suggestions/ideas?
Thanks!

My sister is like you. She has stick arms and legs but all her weight is on her tummy (and she doesn’t weigh that much). You can’t target fat on your stomach by changing what you eat – if you reduce your calories you will lose weight and maybe not from your abs. I’ve been doing some killer crunches, about 150 a day, for a few weeks and it’s made a HUGE difference. I’ve still got fat on my stomach (because I’m fat all over – trying to lose it) but my stomach is much flatter. Look up some ab exercises on the web and make sure you target all areas – upper abs, lower, oblique etc.

Other great toning exercises are lunges, squats, tricep dips, push ups etc. You can do all these at home without equipment.

If you dont want to loose weight you shouldn’t be concerned with calories… you should TARGET your stomach area with crunches and such to only tighten that area…. but remember burning calories also means that you are building muscle i.e. toning your body…. if you are happy with your weight and find your mid-section to be your problem area, target that area and work on that area only…. to tone other parts of your body use weights and other equipment that isolate a certain area so that you tone rather that loose weight…

    Good luck miss!! 🙂
