it is usually recommended to lose about 1-2 lbs. per week. this can be achieved by cutting about 500 calories per day. This can be balanced between diet and exercise to reach the total 500 calories.
I second the dietitian recommendation. This is not just a couple of pounds. A serious game plan needs to be formed to lose the desired amount of weight healthily and efficiently.
