How many calories is a 17yr female suppose to consume?
I’m 17, a female and am 5ft 3 and weigh 49kgs (107.8lbs). I usually do about 20 minutes of physical activity everyday. I would like to know how many calories I am meant to have if I want to lose weight?

The amount of caloric intake for your everyday meal depends greatly on your Resting Metabolic Rate (RMR) and RMR can be calculated using the following formula :
For male : [66 + (12.7 x height) + (6.27 x weight) – (6.8 x age)] x Workout Intensity Factor.
For female : [655 + (4.57 x height) + (4.36 x weight) – (4.7 x age)] x Workout Intensity Factor.
Where weight is measured in pounds
and height is measured in inches.
The workout intensity factor varies according to how much you workout. Give yourself an intensity factor of 1.3 ( for non active people ), 1.4 ( for moderately active) and 1.5 ( For very Active ).
For a person who workout intensively 4-5 days /week, he is considered as very active.
Once you know your RMR, you will be able to monitor how much calorie intake you need per day to lose or gain weight.
