How many calories does an animal need to burn in order to lose 1 pound?
This is an interesting question. But I wondered it because the average human burns 3500 calories to lose 1 pound of fat.
So what is the equivalent for animals? How many calories do they even need in a day?
Do they even have calories in their food?
Why isn’t their a nutritional label on dog food?
So many questions…
Have fun trying to answer me [:

Animals generally only eat to survive. There are few that gorge-pigs-for example, or domesticated cats and dogs. Some dog foods do have nutritional labels, but your pet can only rely on you for proper weight management. All food has calories.
