How long does it take for Benylin medicine for chesty coughs to kick in?
Hi guys. I have been suffering from a very nasty chesty cough for the past 12 days and it is not showing any signs of improving. I have been taking Benylin: For chesty coughs since yesterday and had read reviews that some people who have taken it could feel an immediate difference after their first dose. So far I still feel the same. I feel soooooo awful. Have any of you taken this medicine, and if so, how long did it take to start kicking in?

Benylin contains dextromethorphan, a cough supressant and shouldn’t be used in people with chesty, productive coughs. Something with an expectorant, such as Mucinex is more appropriate. You may need to consult a doctor now.
Suppressing a productive cough can cause pneumonia and other dangerous lung problems, such as pleurisy and bronchitis. Consult a pharmacist next time on your symptoms and recommended medications. Read the labels and do research on the medications that you take.
I hope that you feel better soon, God bless.
