How good is this exercise plan to lose weight?
I am doing this exercise plan to lose weight. I am about 5’9″ and weigh 200 pounds. 4-5 times a week I will walk/run for about 30-35 minutes in the morning. I drink only water/some milk at times and avoid high fat/sugar/calorie foods unless it is a special occasion or something of the sort and even then I don’t take a lot. I also do some sit ups / push ups everyday and lift dumbbells, but not enough that it will add tons of pounds in muscle. Is this a good plan and how much weight do you think I could lose every month?

It sounds like it would maintain your weight but not drop any
Helpful Tips for weight loss:
1)A good way to loose weight is to use a calorie counter watch
Keep to a 1,200 food intake
Add 1,200 plus 3,500 (equals one pound of fat) …and that is the total amount of calories you need to burn each day. Its actually really easy once you start watching the numbers and it doesn’t seem like work or exercise. Its just a matter of changing the way you think about loosing weight.
I use this method when i gain some pounds. The first time I did this I went from 168 to 127
2) Most people do not get enough water in their system. Water is your body’s principal chemical component, comprising, on average, 60 percent of your weight. Every system in your body depends on water. For example, water flushes toxins out of vital organs, carries nutrients to your cells and provides a moist environment for ear, nose and throat tissues.
Lack of water can lead to dehydration, a condition that occurs when you don’t have enough water in your body to carry out normal functions. To determine if you are getting enough water use this simple formula.. Take your weight, for example 150 pounds and divide by 2. Take your answer which is 75 lbs and change it to ounces, in this case 75 ounces. That is how many ounces of water you need a day. Your body performs mostly on water. If you make sure you get enough water everyday your body will perform at top notch and your body will no longer have the cravings of junk food. You will have a better performing body system to help you work out and feel better thru out your day

Sounds good to me.
Don’t expect to lose more than around 5 pounds per month. More than that would be dangerous for your health.

I think it is an excellent plan. It doesn’t really matter how much weight you lose each month. All that matters is that your making an effort. DON’T GIVE UP! Just keep on your plan and eventually you will loose the weight.

To successfully lose weight, you must carry out
a plan to balance your caloric intake with exercise.
Ideally, dieting should be done by eating a nutritionally
balanced, low-calorie diet and increasing physical activity.

Sounds pretty solid. Be sure that your walking/running gets your heartrate up high enough – you should be breathing deeply and talking is difficult.
Please, please don’t be afraid of gaining muscle weight. Strength training burns fat more efficiently than walking or jogging. It also helps preserve lean tissue while on a calorie-restricted diet.
Based on your height, weight and activity level, you should be consuming a minimum of 1500 calories per day. Shoot to lose about one pound of pure fat – not just bodyweight per week. The scale is a poor indicator of fat loss. Use a tape measure around the waist and aim to lose 1/4 of an inch per week.
Hope this helps.
