How do you lose weight on your stomach area?

I want to lose weight just on my stomach area. I like how my body is and want to leave it that way except for my stomach because it seems as if that’s the only place I gain weight! And on my upper thighs. I’m also kind of lazy when it comes to being active but I love food! Any tips?

Sorry, darling. There’s no such thing as spot reduction. If you lose fat, then you lose it first from the last place you gained it.

You can, however, word you abs, obliques, and other abdominal muscles for a more toned look.

Cardio will help, but a good abs workout is obviously a must. Also a lot of studies are coming out now that are showing that a low carb diet will help reduce fat in the stomach area more than most other types of diets. HTH

If you really wanna lose that gut of yours then you need to start eating better and doing some situps every day.You arent going to get that six pack youve always dreamed of by sitting on your ass all day.You need to work for it.All of those perfect bodies you see on tv these days, theyve worked for the body that they have today.Of course they probably have a personal trainer but you can do it yourself…you just need to be able to push yourself to do what needs to be done. You need to make that committment if you really wanna have a better body.Once you start exercising for a few weeks…it will be hard at first but your body will get used to it and you will also have more energy.Good Luck!

Certain exercise, e.g. raising legs up, belly dances

Things to improve liver function – this fat appears usually when liver does not manage all toxic things it should, e.g. infusions with dandelion root, chelicrysum blossoms, etc. Take care of the kind of food you eat. When you sit near PC, your liver is pressed and may suffer too.

hey guess what – you can’t “target” fat loss in any specific area – you can target muscle toning but not fat loss

i would suggest for the best way to start losing weight easily is to eat 6 times a day a meal about the size of your fist and EAT THE FOOD PYRAMID – all of these dumbass fad diets are out of control – and feel free to eat as many fruits as you want

eating 5-6 or more times per day teaches the body that it no longer has to reserve energy via fat – it will know that you’re going to feed it again shortly

it may take a couple weeks but it works and it’s not dangerous like the all protien diets – etc

another way is a fast for a day or two to release toxins from your body – clean the slate – drink only green tea that day some thing with anti-oxidants – then the next day you can begin the diet i laid out

High protein/low fat/low carb diet attacks the weight on your stomach first. Get “The Sonoma Diet” book and follow “phase 1” for two weeks. Lose your belly then start incorporating sugars back into your diet with moderation. Then you will have the belly area you want.

I used to have a really really tiny Disney princess waist, but then I got stressed out, lazy and ate emotionally. I have been having two eggs with a piece of wheat toast for breakfast with tea with Splenda and I have lost 4 inches around my waist. I also have more energy.

If you can work out as well, the weight will just disappear. Drink lots of water.

Also, belly fat can be a result of Cortisol which is a hormone caused by stress. It traps fat in your stomach area. Reduce your stress (meditation, working out, saying “no” to stuff you don’t want to do) and see if that helps.

I hope I’ve given you enough options, but you should also remember that bodies are beautiful and as long as we feel good about ourselves and walk with pride, people don’t notice our flaws!

    Good luck!

Be your own trainer and nutritionist, the basic rules to losing weight are no soda, no fast food, lots of chicken, fish, fresh (not canned that’s bad) fruits and vegies, whole wheat stuff, yogurt. Not so many cakes and donuts and cookies. Basic common sense for eating, you just need to enforce it. Get all the bad stuff out of the house right away, just toss it or give it away while your still motivated. No alcohol if that applies. Some juice but make sure its all natural, because the ones that aren’t are loaded with sugar and a leading cause in diabetes in children and adults. Lots of water, 3-4 liters a day, not all at once, but spread out. Its really easy to down a liter or two while your watching tv or on the computer. Also drink some after you eat the bigger meals of the day, it helps your body pick out the nutrients in food when your food is more spread apart. You also need to stay away from any sports drinks unless you’ve just had a long workout and then you need to limit yourself. Most atheletes mix Gatorade with water because its two complex for your body to get all the nutrients out of. It needs to be diluted. These rules may be hard to adapt to at first so start with cutting out the things you know you can live without. Then work to there. Remember these are perfect eating habits, it can take you a while to work into it. If you know you can’t live without your one treat a day, don’t fight it by trying to eat something else, just eat it and make sure that’s the only one you cheat on a day. Otherwise you’ll get depressed and quit. Another important point is getting the right amount of sleep every night. You need 8-9 hours of sleep each night for your body to function correctly. This is an important factor of losing weight. Set up a routine for yourself and go to bed at about the same time each night.
As for exercise, lots of cardio. Find something you like. If you have never exercised much before, start with walking 30 minutes a day at a brisk pace. Move on to different terrains that include hills and increase the time spent. After a week or two, try jogging the route. No matter what find an activity you enjoy. Walking to jogging is just an example, try hiking, rollerblading, biking. Once you get into a regular routine, if your not happy with the level of difficulty, try signing up with a gym. Spinning, pilates or kickboxing classes are great. It will also introduce you to working with weights. Talk to a trainer for instruction before using any weights. A cheap investment is a balance ball, it works you stomach while your just sitting on it, like at your computer and its great for posture. There are hundreds of exercises you can use it for for your entire body. I can give you some ideas if you want, just email me.
