When we want to get rid of body fat, there is no way to specifically burn fat from one part of the body. Doing situps won’t burn the fat that is covering your abs and doing tricep extensions won’t get rid of the fat that is covering your triceps. The only thing you can do is lose weight all around and eventually the problem area will also improve. The way to burn fat is through a calorie restricted diet in conjunction with an exercise routine that will burn calories. Activities that burn calories include running, biking, swimming and other high intensity activities.

the body composition is a direct result of the diet that you follow. since you can’t spot reduce fat stores abdominal training obviously has no effect of fat in the mid-section.

to decrease the body fat you need to follow a high protein diet. at 5’6 and 162 lbs. your body fat is probably close to 35% you need to get that down to around 25%. consume close to 45% protein, 35% carbs and 20% fats. consume sufficient calories to support your BMR. you need to exercise for 60 minutes daily with several sessions of high intensity cardio weekly

Well sadly saddle bags and lower abs are the last to go. You need to watch your daily caloric intake currently.(say for a week) Use something like fitday.com

Then cut 200cals off the top for a few days and then monitor. Some cut 200cals for a week and monitor your body weight. At the same time increase your activity levels. Run, bike, walk, sled pull or whatever at least 3 times a week. Make sure you are reaching you traget heart rate. You will drop the lbs for sure. Take a couple pics fist to guage your progress. After a month you will see a def progress most people get to where there want to be after a couple, three months.

Remember you didn’t gain this stuff overnight so don’t expect to lose it overnight either.
