How do I lose weight with extreme asthma in the way of exercise at 14?

I’m fourteen years old and trying to lose weight. I weigh 132 lbs and I’m 5’5, i have to lose weight because I’m a model for my friend’s clothing line. The problem is that I cannot run because my asthma and my chest begins to ache and i usually pass out, even with fast walking. I went to a specialist and she told me to start at walking then switching to jogging slowly, I’ve tried for a year and it hasn’t worked. Please help me.

Don’t use this answer to push yourself, but some of the best long distance runners have asthma. Don’t ask me why, but it’s true. I also use to work with a guy that was going to competitions to go to the Olympics and he was an asthmatic. That was the first time I heard of it, and that was over 30 years ago.

Walking is enough – it’s the only exercise I do and I’ve lost 18lbs! Calorie control is important for weightloss too, but you don’t want to starve yourself.

Try sparkteens.com – it’s a website for healthy eating and fitness (it’s FREE) that has really helped me and has so much useful information and advice.

walking burns alot of calories too
you could try walking longer distances
    don’t push yourself too hard

try walking to school every morning (exercise in the morning burns more calories and is better for you)

you could also try to change your diet slightly so it is healthier

Walking is good exercise – brisk walking is the best but even if you can only walk at a regular pace, it’s still a good way to burn calories although you need to do it for a longer period of time. Do it for 5-6 days a week.

A combination of exercise(like walking) and sensible eating is great for losing weight. Eat more of fresh vegetables. fruits and raw nuts. They’re great for burning fats.Eat breakfast which is high in fiber and low-fat(e.g. oatmeal with skim milk); low-fat yogurt is good also and you can add a fruit if you like. Don’t skip meals, specially breakfast, skipping breakfast would slow down your body metabolism and make you burn calories less. Drink at least 8 glasses of water daily.

Avoid saturated fats. Avoid food and drinks high in sugar. Sugar pumps the pancreas to release insulin. To much sugar means to much insulin which makes the body store fat.
