Here is how you can count your calories that you need a day:
Women:
655 + (4.3 x weight in pounds) + (4.7 x height in inches) – (4.7 x age in years)
Men:
66 + (6.3 x weight in pounds) + (12.9 x height in inches) – (6.8 x age in years)

Most people would need 1200-1500 calories a day to maintain health and when dieting, that’s what you need a day to diet healthy.
A total of 7200 calories to burn off 2 pounds. So say if you need 1800 cal a day and you eat 1200 cal a day, then you’d lose 2 pounds by about 2 weeks. Of course the first few days would go faster.
