How come I lost weight by doing this?

Ok usually people say that if u dont eat that much and almost starve urself, then your body will store fat and make u actually gain weight (because its going into starvation mode and it holds onto your fat) but… I havent eaten anything for 4 days and I’ve lost 12 pounds by just drinking water.I gues my body hasn’t gone into starvation mode yet?

    Well, you’re body can’t really store much fat if you aren’t eating anything. You will definitely lose weight AND get a slower metabolism. Please don’t starve yourself!

    No this is called anerexia. Once you eat something you’ll gain 5 lbs just like that.
    Last year i didnt eat anything and lost 15 lbs and kept it off for about 6 months..but i never ate anything accept a couple carrots or a salad with no salad dressing or fat free salad dressing and thats all. But once i started eating again i gained the weight back plus some.

    It probably already has started going into starvation mode. As soon as you eat something your body will store all of the food you eat, whereas normally it would get rid of most of it through digestion. Your body will save everything because it doesn’t know when your going to feed it again. The best thing to do in order not to gain wait when you do start eating, is to slowing start eating fruits and vegetables and low fat foods, so its not storing tons of fat. Just until your body gets back used to having food in it. I hope this helps! 🙂

    okay, your body is in starvation mode. since you are not eating any food it will need protein and you will start loosing muscle mass. at some point, you will want to eat again and your body will try to use as much of the food that you eat as possible. and will try store part of it as fat. since you have lost muscle mass (and muscles burn calories) you will build up fat faster.

    yeah i think you have fast metabolism, if you’re going to fast for days at a time, do 48 hours fast each week or so, because it takes about 2days for your body to notice.

    your body is probably starvation mode NOW…

    your body was probably carring a lot of food or water before you weighed yourself

    Your a bit mistaken. If your body goes into starvation mode, it does keep the fat. But, it has to burn something, so it burns lean fat (muscle). Soo, your body gets all flabby and stuff. Your body keeps fat because a lb or fat is bigger in mass than a lb of muscle (muscle weight more than fat) so you hold the fat to keep you warmer and stuff, its an old survival method humans probably picked up in the caveman times.

    when you start eating again, your body will then go into a low metabolism, and store as much fat as it can, the best way to lose weight and maintain it is small meals 5 or 6 times a day, so there is always something to digest, and your body won’t want to store it.
    Low bloodsugar is interfering with your brainfunctions already!

    if you’re not eating anything then you’re body is burning the calories stored in the fat on your body, so you will lose weight. but, once you do start eating again, your body will see that there is now a better source of calories and will store as many as possible, thus making you gain weight.
