How can i lose weight healthy without hurting myself?How many calories should i take in a day?

I am 250lbs and i need to lose some weight. i have books out of the library but i seriously need some help. How many calories should i take in a day?

    yes , matter of fact, u can loose weight w/o hurting yourslef. just eat less but not none. u should u around 1000- 1500 a day

    Listen to your body. If you have pain the next day, you did too much. You should feel pain and discomfort ONLY during the exercise.

    Do stretching every day and aerobics every day.
    The Step is a good low impact aerobic exercise.

    Once a week, lift and HOLD something heavy for 60 seconds. Such as two pails fo water. Bend over, knees bent, elbows bent, while lifting and holding. Tightens up everything.

    between 1,500 and 2,000 and you have to make sure the amount covers a well balanced meal as well, to avoid any complications…….good luck!!

    Count your regular maintenance calorie intake a day. Then lower it by 500. Because your 250, no offense id suggest you lower it about 700 calories a day. You’ll lose alot faster. Once you get to a healthier weight the weight is harder to drop.

    Take your time, youve got a lot of work ahead of you.

    there are many websites out there that can help you (ex. http://www.sparkpeople.com). The amount of calories varies greatly between men/woman and activity level. Personally (as a younger woman) i’ve found between 1500 and 1700 fairly effective

    Exercise everyday like jogging around the block
    Skip meals. Eat 2 times per day than 3 times per day
    Dont eat until you’re full
    Eat fruits at night if your hungry.
    Drinks lots of water and stop all the fast food and chocolate.

    well, first of all, you need to know ur BMI by calculating ur height and weight. there are percentages of fat for women depends on how many u have on ur body right now then by that you would know whether u are in a category of average, over weight, or obese. Reading books from Library is a good thing to get ur self a start but if you did not put ur self in an action those books become nothing. I don’t know how tall u are, so I can not tell u specifically how to help u to lose weights. However, I am just gonna give u a general ideas how to lose weight without hurting ur self. Eat 5 small amounts of food. Exercise at least 45-60 minutes everyday. You might want to work on the cardio first such as running, jogging, and riding a bike. I am pretty sure in your case, you should start ur self with lots and lots of cardio work out. I know it’s gonna be boring that’s why you need to suck it up if you wanted to lose weight. It’s hard but it’s worthed at the end, trust me. So, don’t do all those diets bullshit because human body is not created to be hungry every time. Food is good to help u supplying enough energy for ur work out. You just have to be smart in chosing what kinda food you want to eat. Stay away from fast food and pops. Sometimes ur body will crave it but u need to ignore it after that phase, you would feel much better. 😛 Calories intake per day depends on how active u are. Like a basketball player in season she/he needs at least 2000 cal/day because she would keep practising and going to games. BUt for normal people, if you did not exercise at all, I would think not more than 1200 cal/day. If you can not take eating too little then you need to exercise to burn those extra calories. Bottom line, if u are not active in sport eat less than 1200 cal/day but if ur active u can eat more than 1800 cal/day and if ur an athlete you need to have at least 2000 cal/day depends on what sport u play.

    hey sweet girl, take it one day at a time, the first thing is “don’t tell anyone” so if you don’t succeed people wont say anything.
    don’t eat after 6pm and cut out bread ,try pita bread has no fat, cut out mayo,and ketchup. i learned all these little tricks from weight watchers and they help.they have this great book so check them out. they will have all the answers you need to start, then go on your own . you can do it!!!
    keep self esteem up, go get your nails done or have a facile things like that. good luck ,you’ll love your self in the end!
