How can I lose weight and stop cravings?

I am not a “big girl”, but I am what most people consider “thick”. I like my curves, but I need to lose my belly and tone up. I believe based on my height, I’m around 70 pounds too heavy. How can I lose weight and stop cravings? What exercises do I need to do in order to lose my tummy and tone my muscles, while still having curves?

    Eat healthy.
    Exercise.
    Consult a physician.

Avoid sodas and alcohol (esp. beers).
Do NOT drink “diet” drinks…they actually make the body BUILD fat!

As for loosing the “pooch”…general cardio. There is NO such thing as an exercise that targets a specific area. You have to loose the fat all-over or not at all. (Note: as a woman, your hips/thighs will be VERY difficult to reduce, since that is where your body stores the fat used to create milk for lactation.)

As for stopping cravings…eat foods that are bulky, but won’t break down too fast. (The “Chinese Food Syndrome”…) Plus, make sure you actually *do* eat fat, salt, sugar, etc somewhere in your diet, since with protiens, these are the four cravings that we all have to deal with. If you’re fine with the bland taste…celery (with NO dips or toppings) actually has a net NEGATIVE 25 calorie value per stick (from just above the bulb to just below the leaves). Also, do NOT eat the leaves…they actually carry a neurotxin that can cause damage if consumed too much. Similar thing with rhubarb.

    Good Luck!

PS: if you want to drop 70 pounds, it *should* take you 30-50 weeks to do it safely.

You need to eat whole grain foods so that your body will stop craving sugar, when you eat things like white bread etc your body starts to crave the sugar. As for exercises you can do lunges, squats, sit ups and running you will keep your curves but tone and shape. The lunges and squats will also work your legs and your butt which is always a plus.

    Hello,
You and most women have a belly. My answer to you depends alot on your stats such as height, weight, age. Adding extra protein to your diet is the trick to appetite control. I have a formula for figuring out your protein factor. If you eat too much you’ll gain, too little and you will NOT lose. Call me and I will figure it out for you. I am a weight loss coach but I do not charge for my services. Feel free to call me at my wellness center 203-933-2200. Thanks, Lori

Hey there, great question and i’m glad I came across it today. 🙂

I’m going to give you some free advice.

Contrary to what you might think, Low Fat Foods DON’T WORK.

You cannot lose weight using Low Fat Diets. Low fat foods have been popular for more than 15 years, but yet our society is getting more overweight as each year passes. This fact alone should tell you that eating a purely low fat menu is not the answer to losing weight.

Anyways, to be honest again, with all the “programs” out there today, many people are getting things mixed up, they are trying MORE than one thing, and NOT sticking to one program, and as a result of this..they’re NOT losing weight…hell, some are GAINING weight because they don’t have the proper guidance..

I’m going to recomend a book, it’s not free, BUT i’ve used it myself and I still DO and I lost fat AND gained muscle……..in fact, after 30 days….well, you get the picture. 🙂

Anyways, check out this link for more information and PLEASE let me know if you have any questions. 🙂
